Hummingbirds are fascinating to watch.
Their wings flap so fast that when you take a picture you can catch them in all kinds of interesting defensive postures.
Sometimes they are just a blur and other times you get lucky and it looks like they're just hanging in the air.
They joust,
They soar,
They squat.
This is now one of my favorite pictures.
Although it's kind of hard to choose because this one is pretty nice too.
Winter is coming so they will migrate soon and instead of hummingbird feeders I'll have ladybug houses in their place. Otherwise, homeless ladybugs move into the house. They aren't particularly obtrusive but still, they are meant to be outside.
