Sometimes life gets hard but there are always reasons for the Queen to smile. For instance:
The return of the bluejays. Look at this little guy with a treat in his mouth.
Woodpeckers whether they're laughing or pecking.
Cardinal and Lady Richelieu adding a splash of color to the landscape.
Friends from the old stomping grounds making time to visit us
Eclipses
Flowers from new friends
Tomato sammiches from homegrown tomatoes, also from new friends
Red okra from a local farm
Especially when it's in gumbo
And it's cooking in my favorite pot... that looks like a cauldron
Clever bookmarks made by kids (pig sticker + guinea feather = guinea pig... I get it! Now was it intentional?)
Friends that make a point to stop by and see you to buy your fudge... even if it didn't set... and it's cold and drizzly out.
This little vignette, and a candle that smells like lime. A lot of the ones I have are spicy or woodsy, it's nice to have something a little different.
And this one vignette too
Shoulda turned the pot around to hide the sticker... the Queen is obviously not a professional home decor picture taker.
Deer in the yard
My favorite chandelier finally out of the moving box and hung in the bathroom.
Every day is full of little things that build you up, sometimes they're easier to see than others, but you can find them if you look.
